Gran's Country Cabins

...Tucked away in the hills is perfect for watching wildlife, listening to the birds, and gazing at the stars; conveniently located at 844 Hwy 173 N, just one mile north of Bandera TX… at the western edge of the Texas Hill Country just 40 miles northwest of San Antonio, on the Medina River. Go back in time and enjoy being a cowpoke for the day with good old fashioned family fun, Locally you may enjoy horseback riding, Wild West gunfights, awesome live cowboy music, hiking, picnics, fishing, hayrides, chuck wagon meals and so much more.

Enjoy Bandera!

You can still see horses tied out front at some of the cafes and watering holes, but they’re keeping company with the Harleys that city folks ride out here on the weekends along the scenic, twisting and climbing two-lane highways. Between trail rides along the cypress-and-live-oak-shaded banks of the Medina, you can go on side trips to cut lavender at a nearby farm, shop antiques and fancy retail emporiums, find a new cowboy hat…stop for a terrific latte, discover a mighty nice set of fancy clothes, tee-off at a local golf course, or explore western and native American antiques and artifacts at the Frontier Times Museum. Bandera has all of the things you need for a great, affordable, family vacation.

The Cowboy Way!

“Boy, howdy!” as the cowboy say, and was that an understatement.

Cowboy Humor...

Never slap a man who's chewing tobacco.

Always drink upstream from the herd.

There's two theories to arguing with a woman. Neither one works.

Never miss a good chance to shut up.

An onion can make people cry but there's never been a vegetable that can make people laugh.

If you're riding' ahead of the herd, take a look back every now and then to make sure it's still there.

Lettin' the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier'n puttin' it back.

What the country needs is dirtier fingernails and cleaner minds.

Diplomacy is the art of saying "Nice doggie" until you can find a rock.

I never expected to see the day when girls would get sunburned in the places they now do.
